Hi, I’m Elisa! As an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor my guiding belief is simple: people make sense. I work from a non-pathologizing lens to help you build a compassionate, contextual understanding of the experiences and external factors that have shaped your relationship to yourself, others, and the larger world around you. I see symptoms and behaviors as self-protective tools that were once useful, but may no longer serve who you want to be in the present and who you really are.
In our work together we will explore unconscious beliefs and stories you carry about yourself and your world. I aim to create a grounded space rooted in curiosity, authenticity, and gentle accountability, the kind of relationship that can be healing in and of itself. When the work feels stuck, I welcome experiential approaches such as art, play, somatic practices, and role play to help us move beyond words toward true and lasting healing.
As a former college and professional athlete, I can help you move beyond an identity that is primarily defined by and connected to achievement toward a kinder, more attuned relationship with your body. As a queer, multiracial person, I view therapy as deeply connected to collective liberation. I aim to remain attentive to my own blind spots within oppressive systems, and am committed to ongoing multicultural learning and humility. I believe healing is less about being “good” and more about becoming whole.
Together, we will make room for the parts of you that feel messy, contradictory, or hard to love. Change can be painful, but it can also include rediscovering joy, pleasure, and connection to yourself and others. I’m prepared to walk with you with care and honesty to face whatever feels scary, tender, and alive.
