I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT137381) with experience supporting individuals and families in their journeys to overcome and heal from trauma.

Trauma is a reaction to something that latches onto you without consent; perhaps from a single moment, a person, or a series of events. It can lead to feelings of loneliness, loss, confusion, or fear. It can hinder your ability to make decisions, to love yourself, or to enjoy simple pleasures or milestones in your life. Though your responses to trauma, thus far, have protected you and gotten you here, to this moment and to this website, these same protective mechanisms can also become destructive and numbing.

You have taken care of yourself the best way you know how. Together, let's go further with true healing and liberation.

I like to investigate the messages you tell yourself, from where they originated, and how they affect your daily life. From there we can validate the origination of those thoughts, examine the facts around them, and introduce more helpful and freeing ways of thinking. We'll also explore the physical sensations around these messages so you can be more in tune with your feelings, giving them the nourishment and boundaries needed to more easily find peace and expression. While this work can be hard and even uncomfortable, my job is to allow you the space to physically and emotionally process while guiding you into new possibilities of being and responding that feel authentic to you.

If you're looking to rekindle your inner fire after feeling subdued for too long, I am here to help.

My education

  • MA Clinical Psychology, Specialization in Psychology of Trauma Studies
Antioch University - Los Angeles, California
  • BA Drama
University of California, Irvine - Irvine, California

My credentials

  • EMDR Therapist
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma-related symptoms. EMDR works directly with the limbic system of your brain, where trauma is stored, to reduce the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories. Upon completion of EMDR therapy, you will notice a de-escalation of overwhelm, due to your nervous system no longer being heavily and frequently activated by stressors that previously reminded you of past trauma. You will find yourself able to feel a sense of presence in your environment and gain trust in your ability to identify and protect yourself from actual threat, instead of that which is imagined and exacerbated by past memories.

Who I work with

I work with adolescents, adults, and elders from all cultural backgrounds, especially those who are grappling with past or present trauma.
